Hyundai Sonata Oil Service Required Reminder Indicator Light Reset
Steps by step tutorial on how to reset the oil service required spanner/wrench maintenance indicator message light on Hyundai Sonata from the year 2014-2015-2016-2017-2018-2019-2020.
STEP 1
- Close all doors, Gear to the park position.
STEP 2
- Start the car engine.
STEP 3
- Press the MODE button to scroll to USER SETTINGS, then scroll down to SERVICE INTERVAL, then press the OK button.
STEP 4
- Then ENABLE SERVICE INTERVAL (Check) then scroll down to RESET then press the OK button.
STEP 5
- Then select YES then press the OK button to confirm.
STEP 6
- Turn off the engine.

Tire Rotation
To equalize tread wear, HYUNDAI
recommends that the tires be rotated
according to the maintenance schedule
or sooner if irregular wear develops.
During rotation, check the tires for
correct balance.
When rotating tires, check for uneven
wear and damage. Abnormal wear is
usually caused by incorrect tire pressure,
improper wheel alignment, out-of-
balance wheels, severe braking or severe
cornering. Look for bumps or bulges in
the tread or side of the tire. Replace the
tire if you find any of these conditions.
Replace the tire if fabric or cord is visible.
After rotation, be sure to bring the front
and rear tire pressures to specification
and check lug nut tightness (proper
torque is 79

wear whenever tires are rotated.
Information
Tires that are asymmetrical or directional
can only be installed on the wheel in
one direction. The outside and inside
of an asymmetrical tire is not easily
distinguishable. Pay careful attention to
the markings on the sidewalls of the tires,
noting the “outside” marking and also the
rotating direction before installing them
on the vehicle.

• Do not use the compact spare tire for
tire rotation.
• Do not mix bias ply and radial ply
tires under any circumstances.

characteristics that may cause loss
of vehicle control resulting in an

Wheel Alignment and Tire
Balance
The wheels on your vehicle were aligned
and balanced carefully at the factory to
give you the longest tire life and best
overall performance.
In most cases, you will not need to have
your wheels aligned again. However,
if you notice unusual tire wear or your
vehicle pulling one way or the other, the
alignment may need to be reset.
If you notice your vehicle vibrating when
driving on a smooth road, your wheels
may need to be rebalanced.

How To Adjust Service Interval
- In the event that you do not have the service reminder already enabled or that you want to adjust it, you would do that in the next screen which is USER SETTINGS
- You would scroll down to SERVICE INTERVAL and this is where you would enable and disable that
- Once it checks for enabling you can adjust the service interval by time or distance
2020-2021 Hyundai Sonata
So there are two methods to reset the service interval on this new Sonata. One is if you have a base model Sonata with the needles the older-style on the dash. Then the second one is with cockpit or digital style. So here’s how it’s done!
With Base Display
- Get in the car and turn it on
- Use the ❏ button until you go to the USER SETTINGS
- Once you are there you just kind of go up or down until you see the SERVICE INTERVAL
- Then you just click OK with the same selector you just push on it
- Next, you go to this menu you could adjust the interval or you could reset it
- To reset it you just go down and click OK on RESET
- Once it asks you to confirm the reset, clicks YES and you’re done for this style
- So let’s say if we want to adjust it, click OK on the ADJUST INTERVAL and you can set it to whatever mileage you want. But I suggest you set it to pretty much your driving style or per your owner’s manual. So you don’t want to set your miles too much because you want to change your oil in a timely fashion.
- Once you’re done selecting all you do is click the ❏ button and it goes back
With Cockpit Display
So now let’s move along to the other style with the digital version.
- First insert the key and put the ignition on
- Press the ❏ button until the display shows the driver assist screen
- Once you see this screen right here on your rpm gauge you want to keep going down until you see the SELECT CONTENT then you click OK once
- After this, a new window will pop up on the bottom of the screen. Now you need to select the USER SETTINGS
- Scroll down to SERVICE INTERVAL and click OK
- Now you could adjust the interval or reset it in this menu
